Another Song – October 2011 Video

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

There has been a distinct lack of quality new linedances being taught at the moment.

Due to this I’ve been struggling to find a worthy addition to the video of the month series for October 2011, so have decided to stick with Robbie & Kate again.

This month line-dance is :-

Another Song choreographed by Robbie McGowan Hickie & Kate Sala.

The dance is a 32 count – 4 wall – Beginner/Intermediate level line dance.

Finally, here’s the video for you to check out.

Temporary New Look

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

I have had to introduce a temporary new look to the website due to incompatibility errors with the old style.

This should be resolved during the course of the weekend.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing.

** UPDATE 03/10/2011 **

Unfortunately, this is taking longer than previously hoped. This should be sorted by the end of October.

** UPDATE 04/10/2011 **

The old look was incompatible with new versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer, as such, I have adopted this new theme for the time being.

Kiss Off – September 2011 Video

Sunday, September 4th, 2011

The September 2011 Video of the Month is the brand new dance by Robbie McGowan Hickie and Kate Sala.

The dance is called KISS OFF and is a 64 Count, 2 Wall Easy Intermediate Line Dance.

This one is a personal favourite of mine, so from a personal point of view, I hope it will take off :)

Way Back Then – March 2001

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Whilst searching through some old computer files, I managed to dig up a snap shot of this very website from 10 years ago this month, March 2001. The design & content has most certainly changed but what is of interest is a couple of snippets on the home page.

Those home page snippets were “five recently taught dances” and “five floor fillers” here in Lincolnshire back in March 2001.

Dances that were taught during March 2001 were :-

Take A Ride.
Choreographed by Kathy Hunyadi & Jo Thompson to Magic Carpet Ride by MDO.
Hold Your Horses.
Choreographed by A.T. Kinson & Tom Mickers to Hold Your Horses by E-Type. (Remember those Knee Knocks?? :-P )
Dream Weaver.
Choreographed by Ed ‘The Urban Cowboy’ Lawton to Dream Weaver by The New Vagabonds.
T.G.I.F.
Choreographed by Jo Thompson & Michele Perron to Just Got Paid by NSync.
Feel Like Crying.
Choreographed by Amanda Harvey-Tench to Cry To Me by Ronnie McDowell.

Five Floor Fillers back in March 2001 here in Lincs were :-

Just A Memory.
Choreographed by Maggie Gallagher to Memories Are Made Of This by The Deans.
Hot Love.
Choreographed by Maggie Gallagher to Hot Love by The Borderers.
Deck 51.
Choreographed by Malcom White & Ed ‘The Urban Cowboy’ Lawton to Flowers On The Wall by Eric Heatherly.
Patient Heart.
Choreographed by Michael Vera-Lobos & Lisa Foord to Patient Heart by Bekka & Billy.
Sweet Surrender.
Choreographed by Chris Hodgson to Can’t Fight The Moonlight by LeAnn Rimes.

It certainly would be interesting to know how many ‘Linedance Veterans’ out there can remember these dances or simply just remember them being taught all those years ago. I know a personal favourite of mine, ‘Patient Heart’ is still danced in the area.

Also, a couple of dances on the floor filler list were actually danced at a recent weekend event in Harrogate, they were Deck 51 and Hot Love. The latter actually being re-taught in one of the class workshops. I can remember learning most of the above, how the last ten years have certainly flown by.
